Dr. Murat Imer

Prof. Dr. Murat Imer is a neurosurgeon with more than 34 years of experience. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cerrahpaşa, Istanbul University between 1977 and 1983 and completed his Doctor of Medicine at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. He began specializing in Neurosurgery in 1983 and completed the certification process with the Turkish Council of Certification in 1991.

He served as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine in Edirne, Turkey, from March 1983 to February 1993. Following this period, he completed two years of compulsory service. Dr. Imer then served as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Trakya University between September 1993 and January 1996.

In January 1996, Dr. Imer joined the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in November 1999, and later advanced to Professor of Neurosurgery, serving at Istanbul University until April 2011.

He established the Neurosurgery Department at Okan University Hospital in Istanbul in December 2016 and worked there for two years. He is currently the Director of the Neurosurgery Department at Florence Nightingale Hospital, Istanbul.
