Dr. Nejat Akalan is a distinguished neurosurgeon with over 45 years of experience, currently serving as the Head of the Neurosurgery Department at Medipol Mega University Hospital. He is recognized for his expertise in modern neurosurgical treatment methods, including radiation-based procedures for conditions such as epilepsy, glioblastoma, spinal injuries, and deep brain stimulation applications. He received his medical degree from Ankara University in 1980 and completed his Neurosurgery residency at Hacettepe University in 1986, where he later returned for additional research and academic training. His international experience includes serving as a visiting lecturer at the University of Washington and practicing as a neurosurgeon at the Department of Neurosurgery, Hacettepe University between 1993 and 2000 before joining Medipol Mega University.
