Prof. Dr. Akin Akakin is a distinguished neurosurgeon with extensive academic and clinical expertise. He completed his medical and neurosurgery training at Marmara University, followed by a PhD focused on neuroanatomy and advanced research in vascular neurosurgery. He further enhanced his expertise through international fellowships, including specialized training at the University of Florida.
His areas of focus include brain and spinal tumors, vascular disorders such as aneurysms and AVMs, functional neurosurgery for movement disorders, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques. He has authored numerous scientific publications and has been recognized with multiple national and international awards for his contributions to neurosurgery.
Prof. Dr. Akakin is currently practicing at NP Istanbul Brain Hospital and affiliated with İSÜ Liv Hospital Bahçeşehir, where he combines his academic knowledge with hands-on clinical excellence.
