Dr. Halil Ibrahim Balci is a highly accomplished orthopedic surgeon from Turkey, recognized for his exceptional dedication to patient care and his distinctive approach to complex orthopedic conditions. In 2004, Dr. Balci completed his medical education at the Faculty of Medicine, Surgical Sciences, Istanbul University. His academic contributions include an important cadaver-based thesis completed in 2010, titled “The Relationship of Posterior Arthroscopy Portals with Anatomical Structures According to Ankle Position,” which provided valuable anatomical insight into ankle arthroscopy techniques and continues to serve as a reference in the field.

Since 2017, Dr. Balci has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgical Medicine, Istanbul University. Between 2017 and 2019, he also held the administrative role of Deputy Chief Physician at Istanbul University, contributing both to clinical governance and academic development.

His clinical expertise encompasses a broad range of orthopedic and traumatology conditions, including degenerative knee and hip diseases, sports injuries, ligament ruptures, complex extremity trauma, bone tumors, bone infections, and advanced limb reconstruction procedures. His experience with Ilizarov methods and limb reconstruction distinguishes him as one of the leading experts in these surgical techniques.

Dr. Balci has maintained active membership in national and international orthopedic societies. He has been a member of the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society (LLRS North America) since 2019. He has also served as a board member of the Extremity Reconstruction and Ilizarov Methods Practice and Research Association since 2015. Additionally, he has been affiliated with the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Education Council and the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association since 2011. From 2016 to 2020, he was a board member of TOTDER. He continues to contribute to scientific advancement through participation in conferences and by serving as a Scientific Referee for peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Balci is currently practicing as an Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist at NPISTANBUL Brain Hospital, Turkey. He is considered among the leading orthopedic surgeons in the country and collaborates with several well-known hospitals across Turkey.
